Location

Canton, Ohio

Client Name

Project Description

This 13,000 sf project entailed a historic building restoration for the exterior of a 1908 Cadillac dealership located in the Downtown Canton Historic District. The project scope included roof replacement, masonry restoration, new elevator and handicap accessible restrooms, in addition to an adaptive reuse interior renovation for a new photography gallery. It required the installation of new energy saving plumbing, HVAC, and electrical system.

Federal and state historic preservation tax credits were pursued and achieved along with LEED energy savings tax deductions. Harris/Day provided construction management services to closely coordinate project costs and budget.

The preservation services included extensive masonry investigation via scissor lift and test panels for masonry cleaning, paint removal and tuckpainting.
