Location

Canton, Ohio

Client Name

Stark Community Foundation

Project Description

This 24,900 sf building is individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places as well as located in the Downtown Historic District of Canton. The scope of the project included both adaptive reuse and historic preservation of an existing 4-story building for the Stark Community Foundation. To receive Historic Preservation tax credits from the Federal government, the project adhered to all applicable historic preservation requirements.

The project required extensive investigation via a 60-foot snorklelift for the masonry, stone and cornice restoration work. Numerous test panels were created for the masonry cleaning, paint and tile removal, and tuckpointing.

Today the structure stands as a fully occupied office building that has spurred economic growth in the City of Canton.
