Project Description
Designed with a collegiate influence, the new 150,000 sf addition is linked to the existing building by a two-story student commons and media center creating a combined 460,000 sf space. Like a university, technology is present everywhere through a wireless network covering the entire facility.
Introducing natural light into the core of the existing facility was a must (as the existing building was designed during the early 1970’s energy crunch). Along with the addition of light, the vocational technology wing, which houses six (6) career tech programs, was completely renovated.
In order to connect the community with the school, a visible, fully-functional culinary arts restaurant was developed.
