Project Description
Central Catholic High School sits on a 65-acre campus in Canton, Ohio. While the nearly century old building is loaded with architectural character and history, many of the classrooms were in need of some updates. The design/contruction team worked hard to preserve the historical context of the building, while incorporating the new into the old.
The 66,000 sf renovation focused on updating and adding science classroom and lab space for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Art renovations added much needed classroom, storage, and studio space, while preserving the look and feel of the original school.
Another dramatic improvement was made in the school's cafeterias, where windows were re-intoduced into the space after being covered previously. The cafeterias, now flooded with natural light, are an inviting place for students to congregate.
Finally, the lobby and corridors on the first floor and lower level were given a facelift, adding a collegiate feel as you enter the building.
