Stark State College Business Center

Location

North Canton, Ohio

Client Name

Stark State College

Project Description

SoL Harris/Day Architects worked with the staff at Stark State College to develop a space program for the Business and Entrepreneur Center. The three story business center addition was designed to provide a new “presence” for the Stark State community and to simplify campus circulation paths for students.

Some of the major program spaces that make up the 40,000 sf addition include: lecture hall, atrium, marketing and financial labs, captioning and computer labs, classrooms, testing and resource centers, and business faculty offices. Existing business administration offices were reorganized as well.

With sustainability in mind, this space was designed to LEED Silver standards which included a 30% energy reduction, 40% water reduction, and included a solar domestic hot water system that were incorporated into the overall budget of $8,300,000.
