Project Description
Mount Vernon Nazarene University decided to repurpose an existing downtown three-story building (26,600 sf) into a School of Nursing and Health Science Building. The 26,650 sf structure is maintaining the historic character on the outside while striving for a LEED certification goal for the whole structure.
Along with the general classrooms and faculty offices, there will be nursing training and practice classroom, med tech labs, and simulator rooms. A community wellness clinic, conference center, and internet cafe have also been added into the designs as a venue to bring the MVNU and Mount Vernon community closer together. This will be a great addition to MVNU's existing Buchwald Art Center, and will expand the University's presence in the downtown area of Mt. Vernon.
