Look closely at the pictures to the right. Are these photos of a kitchen and living room, or are they computer generated renderings of a kitchen and a living room? If you answered computer generated renderings, you are correct. But you have to admit, they look real.
Harris/Day Architects was contacted by Herip Design Associates regarding a developer client and their project – Cutters Ridge at Tobacco Road – located in historical Richmond, Virginia. Herip was interested and in need of H/D’s 3D computer imaging capabilities to showcase the interior of the condominiums they were marketing for a client. H/D was able to provide the planning and development team with concept sketches and support graphics.
“Today’s buyer is educated and expects more than just a blueprint showing what their investment is going to look like when it’s complete,” said Jeff Day. He added, “They’re extremely computer literate and they know what they want. It’s up to today’s designers to be able to provide clients with state-of-the-art design and the technology-driven visuals they’re looking for and know exist.”
Computer generated renderings provide visuals that are used both as design and marketing tools for the developer. “This was the perfect project for us to work on and showcase our computer graphics capabilities,” added Day.
“This computer rendering technique has been a nice “marketing hook” for the client,” said Walt Herip of Herip Design Associates. “They are extremely pleased with the impact of the graphic presentations and what it’s doing to create excitement and interest in their project.”
The renderings were prepared for and are included on the developer’s website, allowing for interested and/or potential buyers to experience a “walk through” - full presentation without ever leaving the comforts of home. Working Together To Make A Difference
Being involved in the communities we serve is very important at Harris/Day Architects. In fact, this is the second year in a row that the firm has been a Pacesetter for the United Way of Greater Stark County campaign.
H/D recently completed its annual campaign and the numbers are in. Thanks to the generosity of our employees (100% participation) we were able to exceed our goal by 10% for the second year in a row. “I’m very proud of our efforts as a firm, said Jeff Day, president of the firm. “Also, this is the fourth year for us to be involved in the United Way’s ‘Day of Caring’.All our employees participated in clean-up and roof repairs at the Great Trail Girl Scout Camp in Minerva,” added Day who is also a member of UW’s Board of Directors.
