The architects and designers at SoL Harris/Day have brought new meaning to the phrase "a hill of beans." As part of an international service project called Canstruction, Harris/Day formed a team to design and construct this massive structure, displayed with six other can creations at the Massillon Museum. Team members Melinda Smith, Yvette Otterman, Eric Dalpiaz, Burt Marzley, and Jordan Lewis created "Teed Off," a football standing six feet tall, sitting on a tee and nestled in a field of grass. The structure consists of nearly 1,700 cans, including 900 cans of baked beans which form the football, and 680 cans of green beans forming the playing field.
At the awards gala on June 4th, Harris/Day was given three awards: Best Use of Labels, Structural Ingenuity, and Judges' Favorite. After the exhibit, all cans were donated to food banks throughout Stark County.
The team at SoL Harris/Day would like to thank all sponsors for their generosity and support.
