FirstMerit Is Jackson Lake’s Newest Resident

Jackson Lake started 2006 out on a positive note – welcoming its newest resident, FirstMerit, to its new home on the picturesque north side of Munson Street. DeVille Developments, a long-time client of Harris/Day, owns the building that now houses FirstMerit’s market area headquarters. Harris/Day worked closely with FirstMerit’s staff to finalize office space planning and interior design finishes for the new corporate office environment. If you haven’t seen Jackson Lake before, take a look at the ‘great view’ from the corner office photo below!

Shoup Joins Harris/Day Education Team

In an effort to expand its education design experience beyond the boundaries of Stark County, Harris/Day has brought an expert on board, namely Tom Shoup, former North Canton City Schools Superintendent. The firm’s marketing initiative focuses on having an ‘administrator to administrator’ connection, blending education with architecture.

“In my 19 years of experience as a Superintendent, I lived through the building process that current superintendents are facing,” said Shoup. “With Harris/Day’s extensive project experience in designing and building schools at all levels, we agreed that by working together, our team can offer educational administrators a unique choice when it comes to selecting an architect for their next building project.”

Most people don’t realize how many pieces there are to the puzzle of making a new school facility a reality. “When it comes to planning, funding, designing and executing a building project, Harris/Day can lead and guide a school administrator through the process,” said Shoup. “Having that guiding, experienced hand is a necessity these days.”
